1. PURPOSE. The purpose of this TB is to inspect all Test Set, Aviation Vibration Analyzer
(AVA) units returning from Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom (EF/IF) to determine the need for
repair and to incorporate corrections to reported operational problems.
2. PRIORITY CLASSIFICATION. URGENT
a. Equipment In Use. No later than 30 days after re-deployment from (EF/IF) Operations.
Deployed Aviation Vibration Analyzer (AVA) will complete cleaning procedures as necessary.
b. Equipment in Storage. No later than 30 days after re-deployment from EF/IF Operations.
Deployed Equipment will complete cleaning procedures as necessary but as a minimum semi-
annual.
3. SUMMARY OF PROBLEM.
a. Environmental conditions within EF/IF Theatre of Operations are conductive to the
introduction of salt laden and other corrosive substances into the interior surfaces of the
equipment. These substances, if allowed to remain will accelerate the corrosion process and
lead to premature corrosion damage. Immediate removal of these substances is imperative in
order to minimize future corrosion damage.
b. This Technical Bulletin (TB) is issued to provide special inspection and cleaning
procedures for all deployed/redeployed aircraft.
