a. AH-64 aircraft having flown 1750 or more flight hours are susceptible to cracking of the 2L stringer. Previous
fatigue tests conducted on the AH-64 tailboom in a laboratory revealed cracking of the 2L stringer at the equivalent of
1750 flight hours. Unless a doubler reinforcement is applied or the slot area has been closed, the aircraft must be
inspected for cracks before each flight. (See figure 1.)
