Summary of the Problem.
a. Two deficiency reports were received which indicated that a CH-47D unit was issued MH-47E closed
loop items through the normal supply system. Certain MH-47E items are placed on the closed loop list be-
cause there is a reduction in finite life due to the MH-47E flight spectrum. A thorough review of all closed loop
items has revealed that 36 engine cross shaft adapter assemblies (P/N 145D3500-16/ -17) and one aft rotor
hub (P/N 114R2050-36) could have excaped into the CH-47D supply system.

The purpose of this Technical Bulletin is to:
(1) Require a one time inspection of all CH/HM-47D aircraft and stock for specific serial number
aft rotor hub.
(2) Require a one time inspection of all CH/MH-47D aircraft and stock for specific serial num-
bered engine cross shaft adapter assemblies.
(3) Update records to reflect reduced MH-47E life.
(4) Verify correct life for adapters used for CH/MH-47D aircraft.

8. Inspection Procedures. If any of the discrepant parts listed in paragraph 8a, 8b, or 8c are identified,
proceed to inspection procedures in paragraph 9.
a. Inspect aft rotor head assembly's DA Form 2408-16 and conduct visual inspection to determine if
rotor hub P/N 114R2050--36, serial number UW3018 is installed. If installed, complete correction procedures
in paragraph 9.
